How it works
Overtime pay = hourly rate × overtime multiplier × overtime hours. Regular pay is the rate times the regular hours. Total pay is the two added together. A multiplier of 1.5 is often called time and a half, and 2 is double time.

Example
At 20 an hour with 40 regular hours and 8 overtime hours at 1.5, regular pay is 800, overtime is 240 and the total is 1,040.
