How it works
The generator picks each character using your browser’s secure random number generator and guarantees at least one character from every type you select. It then shuffles them so the pattern is not predictable. Entropy is length × log₂(number of possible characters), which estimates how hard the password would be to guess.

A 16-character password with lowercase, uppercase, numbers and symbols has roughly 100 bits of entropy, which is very strong.

Is this password generator safe?
It runs entirely in your browser and does not send or store the password. As with any tool, copy it into a password manager straight away.
How long should a password be?
At least 12 characters. Sixteen or more is better for important accounts.
Should I use symbols?
They add strength, but length matters most. Some sites do not accept every symbol.
