Convert between 30 major currencies using the latest European Central Bank reference rates. Enter an amount, choose two currencies and see the result with a table of common amounts.
How the conversion works
The converter loads the latest European Central Bank reference rates from the free Frankfurter service when the page opens. All rates are stored against the US dollar, so converting US Dollar to Euro divides your amount by the USD rate and multiplies by the EUR rate. The ECB publishes these rates once each working day, so they do not move minute by minute like market rates. Your amount is not sent anywhere, though the rates service can see your IP address as any website does.
Banks, card companies and money transfer services add a margin or fee, so the amount you actually receive is usually lower than the reference rate suggests. Compare the total cost, not just the rate, before you send money.
