How it works
Characters are counted as the number of UTF-16 units in the text box, which matches how most sites count. Emoji, some accented letters and some symbols may count as two on certain platforms, so leave a little spare room. Meta description and title lengths are recommendations, because search engines truncate by pixel width and not by a fixed number of characters. Platform limits can change.
Example
A 145-character message leaves 15 characters in a 160-character text message and 135 for a 280-character post on X.
