How it works
Generations are groups of people born in a similar period. The boundaries used here follow the ranges commonly used by researchers such as the Pew Research Center. Different organisations draw the lines slightly differently, and the names are labels, not scientific categories, so someone born near a boundary may identify with either neighbouring group.
