Frequently asked questions
Does this tool check my real credit score?
No. It is a lookup table only — you type in a number you already know, and it tells you which published band that number falls into on the selected scale.
Why do UK bureaus use different scales?
Experian, Equifax and TransUnion each run their own scoring system in the UK, with different maximum scores, so a 700 means something different depending which one it came from.
Is a higher score always better regardless of scale?
Within the same scale, yes. Across different scales, the raw number alone does not tell you anything — always check which scale a score is quoted on before comparing it to another.
